DUI TREATMENT
Our DUI education and therapy classes meet Colorado standards and focus on education, reflection, and personal growth. Participants are supported in understanding their choices, reducing risk, and creating healthier patterns for the future.
We have 1 Education class Monday at 4:30.
We have 1 Therapy class Monday at 6:30
Both are virtual.

1. Welcome and Program Overview
Objectives:
- Introduce participants to Embark PCA of Colorado and its mission.
- Explain the structure and purpose of Level II DUI programs.
- Review participant rights, responsibilities, and expectations.
Discussion Points:
- Purpose: promoting accountability, safety, and recovery.
- Overview of Colorado DUI law (C.R.S. §42-4-1301).
- Level II Tracks:
• Track A: 42 hours (21 weeks) — 1 prior, low BAC (<0.15)
• Track B: 52 hours (26 weeks) — high BAC (≥0.15)
• Track C: 68 hours (34 weeks) — multiple offenses, higher risk
• Track D: 86 hours (43 weeks) — chronic/relapse pattern.
2. Program Structure and Attendance
- Each class = 2 hours/week (group format).
- Attendance is mandatory; more than 2 absences may result in discharge.
- Must complete Level II Education (12 hours) before starting Therapy sessions.
- Homework, journaling, and progress check-ins are required.
3. Participant Rights & Confidentiality
- HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 protections apply.
- Group confidentiality is essential.
- Right to respectful treatment, grievance procedures, and access to records.
4. Group Guidelines
- Be punctual and sober at all sessions.
- Participate actively and respectfully.
- No disruptive behavior or aggression.
- No use of substances prior to class; random sobriety checks may occur.
- Cell phones off/silent. Camera’s on for full group
5. Clinical and Legal Requirements
- Collaboration with probation officers and DMV Interlock providers.
- Random UA/BAC testing.
- Treatment plans individualized based on assessment and criminal history.
6. Topics Covered in Education & Therapy
Education (12 hours):
- Alcohol/drug effects on body and brain
- Blood alcohol concentration (BAC) and impairment
- Decision-making and risk assessment
- Legal consequences and driving privilege impacts
- Responsible choices and prevention strategies
Therapy (Track-Specific Hours):
- Identifying high-risk situations
- Cognitive-behavioral skills and relapse prevention
- Coping strategies and stress management
- Family and social impact
- Building a sober lifestyle and support systems
7. Evaluation and Completion
Completion requirements:
- All hours attended
- Fees paid in full
- Homework and progress goals met
Non-compliance may result in discharge and report to probation/DMV.
8. Resources & Support
- Referrals for MAT, counseling, peer support, AA/NA, and mental health services.
- Crisis hotline numbers and local recovery community connections.
